27 Black was born out of necessity. With too few housing options available for the growing number of students, parents, families, friends, and alumni visiting Virginia Tech, it became clear that there was a need for high-quality accommodations that were both convenient and affordable.

Founded by parents of college students, 27 Black brings decades of experience in student housing development and property management throughout the Northeast, where housing shortages are especially common due to colleges and universities located in densely populated urban centers. That firsthand understanding of the challenges families face inspired the creation of 27 Black.

Our mission is to help relieve some of the housing pressures facing the Virginia Tech community by offering thoughtfully appointed apartments and condominiums just minutes from campus and the university’s athletic facilities.
